Nowadays, there are quite a few severe threats online that need to be addressed and dealt with effectively. In order to protect themselves, people within India have been trying to figure out which option is able to make the most out of Internet security.
This is the reason why many Indians have already turned to the use of VPNs. Due to the flexibility of the VPN, a lot of Indians have found it to be the perfect solution to their problems. Whether they need a safe connection with full data encryption or they want to access geographically restricted content, the VPN covers their needs to the fullest.
However, there is a frequent misinterpretation that has resulted in Indians considering the VPN as the holy grail of cybersecurity. Although nobody can argue that the VPN is an essential part of Internet protection, this does not mean that it automatically lets you off the hook.
For instance, there are logs kept in various VPN service providers and such logs reveal your true identity at times. Another issue that needs to be taken into consideration is the local legislation of each country. In India, there are rules that need to be obeyed and the same goes for every country, of which a VPN originates.
NordVPN is one of the VPN options available for Indians, having gained the attention of the local public and having become quite popular in the country. According to Marty P. Kamden, chief marketing officer of NordVPN, the quality of services provided enhances overall security and anonymity: “NordVPN takes users’ information safety extremely seriously. It doesn’t keep any user logs, uses special security protocols (OpenVPN, IKEv2), owns DNS servers and uses a number of other security measures plus military-grade encryption,”
This is not the sole VPN service provider in India, with the locals choosing among ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access (PIA) and TorGuard. The Indians not only regard the VPN as a way to establish a safe Internet connection with absolute privacy and anonymity.
They also allow themselves greater freedom, when it comes to lifting heavy censorship and accessing geographically limited content. For example, Netflix is a service which many Indians enjoy and it is great to access US Netflix in India and everywhere else.
Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages in using VPNs and Indians should keep that in mind, too.
